As a little girl I played with art daily. It was simply an activity that made me feel good. I felt no stress or tension over it and there were no restrictions or perimeters to follow. My work with art followed any whim and was only limited by access to materials or mediums within reach at the time. Things changed, like they always do and with maturity came judgements (from myself mostly), then raising a large family, money was tight, and even geographical logistics came into play, too.
We can let others define what art is and how we pursue it, but nothing can remove, diminish, or replace our innate sense of urgency to create. Creating is a fundamentally positive action. It’s building upon an idea, a concept, or a vision and we all own it.
Today, my ART takes on many designing formats like painting, cooking, photography, decorating, and writing, and the practice of Wellness. All of which invite discovery and explore transition. What’s your medium and how do you navigate though life with ART?
